Antarctica: Coldest Place


Antarctica is the coldest highest, driest, windiest, emptiest place on earth.
It is 1.4 times bigger than the USA and 58 times bigger than the UK
Antarctica has 70% of all the world's freshwater frozen as ice and 90% of all world's ice.
Antarctica is the 5th biggest continent and 10% of the earth's land area.
Antarctica has the lowest naturally occurring temperature. The record is of −89.2 °C.
The mean annual temperature at the South Pole is -56 °C.
There are lots of penguins, whales, seals, krill and fishes in Antarctica's waters.
