Yellow Watermelon

A yellow watermelon is a fruit that is nearly identical to a traditional watermelon, but the flesh inside is a bright yellow color instead of red or pink. The taste is also very similar, though some say it has a sweeter or more honey-like taste. Yellow watermelons look almost exactly like regular watermelons on the outside. Yellow watermelons are generally oblong or oval in shape. Yellow watermelon is a healthy snack because it is fat free, low in calories and contains vitamin C, vitamin B, and potassium, among other nutrients. Once watermelon has been picked, it can generally be kept in a cool environment for approximately two weeks. Once the watermelon has been cut and sliced, it should be kept in a sealed container in the refrigerator for approximately one week.

Transparent Headed Fish

The barreleye fish may look like some kind of fantasy creation, but it is very real and living in deep water off the coast of California and through the North Pacific region. Little about this species has been recorded since it was first discovered 70 years ago. Recently however, scientists from the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute were able to study these fish alive in their deep water habitat for the first time. Using remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), they filmed barrelfish at depths between 2,000 and 2,600 feet.
With a head like a fighter-plane cockpit, a Pacific barreleye fish shows off its highly sensitive, barrel-like eyes--topped by green, orblike lenses--in a picture released today but taken in 2004.The fish, discovered alive in the deep water off California's central coast by the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute (MBARI), is the first specimen of its kind to be found with its soft transparent dome intact.
The 6-inch barreleye had been known since 1939--but only from mangled specimens dragged to the surface by nets.

White Lions, South Africa

The white lion is occasionally found in wildlife reserves in South Africa. These white lions live at Sanbona, three hours drive from Cape Town.
The White Lion has always been rare but its unusual beauty has captured the imaginations of people across the globe. Its whiteness is not due to albinism, but due to a recessive gene - similar to that found in the rare white tigers of Asia. However, it is not a separate species of lion from the typical tawny African lion. The cubs are born almost pure white, but darken to a rich cream color over the course of their first two years.
The privately owned, 130,000-acre wildlife reserve, one of South Africa's largest, is at the center of an extraordinary conservation project which, for once, shows a positive outcome to mankind's interference with the natural world, and not just for these lions.
African elders recognized the beauty and took the presence of a White Lion as a spiritual symbol and an ancient prophecy fulfilled.
For centuries rumors of mysterious white lions had been circulating in South Africa. Legend said the white pelage represented the good to be found in all creatures. Strong claims of sightings started to surface in 1928.
